SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Over at Forest Park in Springfield, a kickoff rally passed off as they put together to revive the Walker Grandstand baseball area, into the sector of goals.

About three months in the past, Mark Froderma noticed how the baseball area at Forest Park was in determined want of restoration. Froderma grew up in Springfield and performed at this very park. He believed that it was his mission to boost $50,000 to revive the park to its full glory with assist from the group. 22Information spoke to Frodema about this restoration undertaking.

“Baseball can save children lives. Baseball like another sport can remodel a children life, so I need to carry the sector again so we could be happy with it and truly have groups need to come right here and repair this grandstand that hasn’t been touched since 1950,” mentioned Froderma.

On Thursday, they obtained a $1,000 donation from Golden Yr homecare companies.
