China introduced sanctions on US Home Speaker Nancy Pelosi over her landmark journey to Taiwan this week, making her the highest-ranking US official designated for penalties by Beijing. 

The Chinese language Overseas Ministry introduced the unspecified sanctions towards Pelosi and her instant household after the speaker departed from Japan late Friday. Earlier, Overseas Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying instructed an everyday information briefing that tensions over Taiwan this week had been “solely attributable to Speaker Pelosi and US politicians.”
