Google Doodle honors, shares submitted art work from Uvalde capturing sufferer

Google is honoring one of many victims of the Could 24 mass capturing in Uvalde, Texas by showcasing her Doodle submission on their web site.

10-year-old Alithia Haven Ramirez submitted a drawing to the 2022 Doodle for Google contest, an annual artwork contest open to college students in grades Ok-12. As a part of the competition, college students can create and submit their very own Google Doodle for the possibility to have it featured on Google’s homepage, in addition to win scholarships and tech packages for his or her colleges.

To honor Alithia and the opposite 20 victims of the capturing, Google has arrange an In Memoriam web page as a part of their Doodle for Google part, with a photograph of Alithia and her submission, which depicts just a little brown-haired youngster holding yarn with a grey and white canine sitting on a sofa with “Google” spelled out in objects on the wall behind them. 

Under the drawing, a quote attributed to Alithia says: “I need the world to see my artwork and present the world what I can do, I need folks to be glad once they see my ardour in artwork.”

In a press release to FOX 7 Austin, Google says that Alithia’s story and artwork “profoundly touched us” and so they “wished to honor her household’s request to share her distinctive abilities”:

“Our deepest condolences exit to the household and buddies of victims and to the group of Uvalde, Texas. In Alithia Ramirez’s 2022 Doodle for Google submission, she described her need to indicate the world her artwork and every thing she will do, and we’re dedicated to honoring these needs and her legacy. Her story and artwork profoundly touched us, and we wished to honor her household’s request to share her distinctive abilities that had been so tragically taken on account of mindless violence.”
