Kovai Medical Middle and Hospital carried out a number of organ transfers to save lots of the lives of 9 beneficiaries in Coimbatore on Saturday.

S. Moorthy (52) of Perundurai, Erode met with an accident close to Veppampalayam on Thursday morning and was taken to a close-by personal hospital after which to KMCH on Avinashi Street. He was declared brain-dead on Friday. His spouse, M. Nirmaladevi, son Kanagavelan and daughter Gayathri determined to donate the deceased individual’s organs.

Surgeons harvested Moorthy’s organs as per State Transplant Authority guidelines — one kidney was transplanted at KMCH, lungs and coronary heart valve have been despatched to a personal hospital in Chennai, and the opposite kidney, liver, eyes, pores and skin and bone to a personal hospital in Coimbatore.

Thanking the household of the deceased, KMCH Govt Director Arun N Palaniswami mentioned extra consciousness is required about organ donation.
