ISTANBUL, Aug 22 (Reuters) – Turkey’s lira was barely weaker towards the U.S. greenback on Monday after the central financial institution took steps to deal with credit score availability over the weekend.

The foreign money TRYTOM=D3 stood at 18.12 as of 0542 GMT, barely weaker from its shut of 18.085 on Friday. The foreign money has misplaced 27% of its worth towards the buck thus far this 12 months.

On Saturday, Turkey’s central financial institution unveiled new measures to deal with the widening hole between its coverage fee and lending charges, days after it shocked markets with a 100 basis-point rate of interest lower to 13%.
