KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – When Russia invaded Ukraine in February, Ukrainian pastor Alex Ilash and his household safely fled to Romania.

That was till he felt the decision to come back again to his nation — and minister to the refugees.

On Sunday, he got here all the best way to Kansas to share his story.

Ilash, forsaking his spouse and youngsters in Romania, took a stand to maintain his church doorways open, feeding folks, offering them with medical provides and serving to 500 refugees flee.

He says the battle in Ukraine has not been fought alone.
