The service members who recovered the plane used a remotely operated car to connect “specialised rigging and elevate strains” to the jet whereas it was underwater. After attaching the rigging, the restoration staff then connected a lifting hook to the rigging to “increase the plane to the floor” of the ocean and “hoist it” onto the multi-purpose development vessel Everest, a separate motor vessel that can be utilized for quite a lot of functions within the ocean, the discharge stated.

As soon as the plane had been recovered from the depths of the ocean and placed on the MPV Everest, the staff transported the plane to a “close by army set up,” the discharge stated. The plane will then be transported from the army set up to the US, the discharge added.

The staff that recovered the plane included service members from a number of completely different naval items, amongst them members from Job Pressure (CTF) 68, Naval Sea Techniques Command’s Supervisor of Salvage and Diving, service members assigned to the plane service Harry S.
