James Vaughan returns to Everton as loans supervisor


Everton have appointed former participant James Vaughan as their new loans supervisor, The Athletic understands.

Vaughan, 34, joins from Tranmere Rovers the place he had success because the League Two aspect’s sporting director.

A graduate of the Everton academy, he grew to become the Premier League’s youngest ever scorer in 2005 after netting as a 16-year-old in opposition to Crystal Palace. He left Goodison in 2011 to affix Norwich Metropolis and retired in 2021 after a stint at Tranmere.

His return to Everton is the most recent instance of director of soccer Kevin Thelwell making his mark behind the scenes.

Thelwell has been eager to make sure a greater pathway to the primary staff for younger gamers and has already employed Gareth Prosser as academy director this summer time.

Vaughan is anticipated to begin his new position on Monday.
